Android Market not working and both Clear the Data in the Market App and Wiping Market App Data didn't work? Try fixing the Market app from Terminal.

Fixing Market from Terminal


1. Goto the "Home" screen.

2. Pull up the "App Drawer" and open the "Terminal" app.

3. There will be a "$" where you can type, type in "su" (excluding the quotes).

4. A prompt will pop up, hit "Allow."

5. Then type in "rm /mnt/secure/asec/smdl2tmp1.asec" (again, exluding the quotes).

6. Reboot phone.

7. Test the Market App.

Delete Download Folder on SD Card



1. Goto the "Home" screen.

2. Connect phone to computer via USB.

3. From the notification bar, hit USB connected.

5. Hit "Turn on USB storage."

6. On the connected computer, nagivate to the SD Card.

7. Find the folder named "download" and delete everything in it.

8. On the computer, disconnect the phone from the computer.

9. On the phone, hit "Turn off USB storage."

10. Clear the Data in the Market App.

11. Reboot phone.

Wipe Data in Market App

1. Goto the "Home" screen.

2. Hit the phone's "Menu" button.

3. Goto "Settings."

4. Goto "Applications."

5. Clikc "Manage applications."

5. Click the "All" tab at the top

6. Scroll down and click the Market app

7. Click "Clear data."

If that didn't work try Deleting the Download Folder on the SD Card.
